VERY Proudly presented todayis this beautiful Hopi Kachina doll, depicting Kwahu, the Eagle Dancer Kachina.This exquisite, vintage Kachina doll was carved around 1980 by the legendaryHenry Shelton, truly one of the Founding Fathers of modern Kachina dollcarving. Henry passed away a few years, and this doll represents a rare andirreplaceable example of his work. Henry's work dates from the late 1940’s, wherehe developed his skills and talents at the Museum of Northern Arizona. Henrywas instrumental in creating and popularizing the Late Action Style. The waythat Kachina dolls look today is in part because of the brilliance and talentof this wonderful man. This beautiful example of his work, in PERFECT conditiondespite being over 40 years old, stands 16 inches tall (to the tip of hisfeathers) and displays his artistry in it’s creative maturity.
