Up for sale is a A.W. Wadsworth and Sons. Austria. Hobo Slot Knife. Bought and given to soldiers. During WWI slot knives like this were purchasedforpersonal use as well as gifts to soldiersor handed out by the Red Cross. I believe this one was a family gift or a personal purchase due to the engraving. Just a guess though. This has been engraved for a soldier named Jack P. Ney. There is even a faint etch of his name on the blade. This little piece of history is 4 inches long closed. It can be separated into two parts so that the fork and knife can be used separately. Fork and blade both have good snap in both directions. Blade has seen use and sharpening. The stamp on the tang is very worn. I had to use a jeweler\'s loop to just to see the faint remains of the makers stamp. Imported by A.
