Spain, silver 2-reales, \"Charles III\" pretender issue with CAROLVS monogram.
This coin was struck at Barcelona by Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor, who (confusingly enough for us 300 years later) was styling himself as \"Charles III of Spain\" from 1701 to 1711 while a pretender to the Spanish throne during the War of the Spanish Succession.
History would later remember a different man as Charles III of Spainfrom 1759 to 1788.
KM# PT5. See NGC/Krause priceguide data here.
This is a nice old silver coin with attractive grey contrast toning and an old contemporary jewelry hole.
