Amazing find at an estate sale ~ a crate that is 108 years old ~ and still looks pretty dog gone good! Up for your consideration from the Pre-Prohibition era is a Pabst Blue Ribbon Milwaukee, Wis crate with inserts for the 3 dozen smalls that this held! Writing is still clear after all of this time - alas - there is a section of the back where the wood is no longer there - but all in all what a great find. The latch still works on the top (PLEASE note that I flipped the crate forward and took a picture so the lid/top is the picture where the circle is down at the bottom of the photo). The two sides have metal handles - one has words on it - they are backwards and I could see them from the inside of the box and is in excellent shape. The other handle is all there but it does have some corrosion. Measurements: 21 1/2\" x 20\" x 11\". It is BIG! and heavy. Neat, neat piece! The right side of the crate (as you are looking at it) says: \'3 Doz. Small Guaranteed by Pabst Brewing Co. Under the Food and Drug Act June 30, 1906 Serial No 1924\' (the last two digits I am not 100% on). The back side has the Pabst Emblem (also is the side missing a sliver of wood). The left side of the crate has nothing printed on it.I will be happy to answer questions - post more pictures - any information that you need. Happy offerding and GOOD LUCK - I think this is a find!
