This sale is for anINCREDIBLEWilliam Howard Taft 4\" celluloid button from the 1908 presidential campaign! \"CLOTHIERS\' LEGION / EMPLOYERS AND WORKERS UNITED / OUR CRAFT is for TAFT.\" As you can see from the reverse scan, the button is missing the soldered on bar pin. When the pin came off it took a 3/8\" piece of the cello & paper with it. Also, on the extreme right is a tiny 1/16\" cello nick off the edge. Otherwise, this classic is in beautiful condition! How many 4\" 1908 Taft buttons have you seen?Perhaps the FIRST 4\" celluloid button????!!!!Not only was William Howard Taft the 27th President of the United States but later became Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court!
