We HAVE NOT gone through the Plumbing or Electrical systems!!! We brought it home, hoped to restore later, but we have decided to do a conversion from the ground up. We just cleaned it up some, we did not go through any of the systems.
Please go through the description then look at all the pictures we have below included in the description. THIS IS A WONDERFUL RESTORE PROJECT
1964 Silver Streak Sabre 11 Panel(to the best of my knowledge- wiring diagram in closet dated 7/14/64)
Length of Body - 16\'8\"
Length with bumper and hitch - 20\' 6\"
Width - 7\' 3\"
Plaque stamped M-68 S-191 DOH A-131336
This travel trailer needs restoration. It is NOT usable in it\'s present condition.
This being said...it is nearly entirely original...so all the original colors, cabinetry, cushions, counters are perfect to use or to use for a pattern. No guesswork! The only thing missing is the curtains. The too, were a tan/taupe and cream and the material was like a silky heavy terry cloth. Not salvagable - sorry.
We do NOT know how much it weighs. It can be pulled with a half ton pickup or large SUV. There is a LOT of information and forums on the Silver Streak, they probably have the weight listed somewhere. I just did not find it yet.Outside:
Pretty good body with the exception of where a tree branch came down in a storm and clipped the front driver side upper panel - repairable, but sad to see it damaged. There is also a small dent in the upper passenger side and rear passanger side. Not bad, but does need to be popped out.
There are dents and dings, but over all not bad!
The gold strip is not painted, looks to be anodized a gold color with a striped texture.
Vent lids/tops are all there and in good condition.
Under side of camper only has a few dents, really not bad at all, no holes. (These trailers have an aluminum skin covering the underside of the entire camper)
Hitch 2\" ball - The hitch jack is stuck from sitting for so many years. We have grease and oil soaking on it now. It does turn and lifts trailer, but will not retract up into itself very far. Perhaps some time will help...but removes easily for transport.
Top tin/aluminum looks good too.
Step is the original step - works.
We have all four original tires and rims - two were flat so we put on two of our spares. We also have all four original hubcaps! Whoever is the winning buyer - the tires are old and need to be replaced and wheel bearings packed before transport. (we are not including our spare tires with the sale of the travel trailer)
Door to trailer is in very good shape!!!
It has it\'s own screen door insert. (This too is in great shape)
All screens are in good shape except on on the lower front window has a hole in the bottom.
Almost all glass is in good condition, Bathroom louvre glass is cracked, small louvre on side has small crack and the front big flat glass is cracked.
Louvred door on the outside of refrigerator is dented (probably when tree fell)
Long Electrical cord included, under dinette bench.
Front canopy - was dented a little with the branch as well.
We have tried to picture all the \"bad\" areas so you see what you are getting. Look at all the pics.
Pics give you a very good idea of the condition of the exterior aluminum.
Where the branch hit the camper, it did dent the interior too. It needs to be pushed back out. So the valance/shelf can be put back up.
No keys
No paperwork
Original door knobs and locks. the knob on the inside of the door falls off, but still works. Outside works fine and stays in place.
Silver Streak emblems are in rough shape, all were in broken pieces
Inside:
Stove/Oven and Exhaust vent/fan over stove top are a two-tone Taupe/Tan - rare color. Top enamel does have some chips but they are under grill tops and the oven door is VERY nice.
Dinette cushions are still there, need upholstery done , but the original patterns are still very nice to have, in order to match!
Dinette does make into a full bed.
There is a Valance/shelf that goes above the dinette. Pictured seperately!
Gaucho sofa in center across from kitchenette. There is a long green cushion included, but looks to have been recovered. It was probably taupe/brown like the dinette originally. One leg is off ( in one of the drawers - not missing)
Kitchenette, tile around walls is a cream color - all there still!
Sink is a single sink in a white enamel. Not perfect but still very nice.
Pink Dometic Refrigerator - has not been tested!
Very large cutting board over Refrigerator!
Original Heater is a brand called Safti-Vent
Bathroom is yellow! It is a brighter darker yellow than the pictures show. Yellow counter top has gold glitter scattered throughout. Rest is solid yellow.
Toilet is green.
Has a Yellow shower as well! Nice for such a small travel trailer of this vintage!
Bathroom has a beautiful wood slat woven bi-fold door! very nice!
Interior Closet doors have unique porcelain/Bakelite type knobs that twist to open! Not seen these before.
Magnets hold upper cupboard doors open - all work.
Countertops and table are in a solid cream color. Countertops are in pretty good condition, the table top has seen use.
Three electric lights - Shades are cream with gold stripes/strips...all in very good shape, non broken!
Walls of trailer - parts that were painted originally are cream with little flecks of gold
Floor tile was put down on the diagonal. Very nice idea, I haven\'t seen this in a trailer before. Cream with taupe/dark tan flecks of color
Probably the worst thing that needs addressing is the interior flooring. The floors are bad. There is a soft spot in front of the door and in front of the bathroom, but overall the floor needs to be replaced.
