DESCRIPTION FOR THIS sale

Nice copy of the science-fiction adventure pulp magazine, \"Amazing Stories\" published by Ziff-Davis ln November of 1939 (Vol 13 No 11). Feature story is \"The 4-Sided Triangle\" by William F. Temple. The front cover was done by H. W. McCauley, the back cover was Howard M. Duffin and the illustrations in the book are by Julian S. Krupa and H. R. Hammond. (See below for a list of all stories and authors - the magazine also includes 15-20 articles and short pieces not listed.) These old pulps are becoming hard to find in any condition. This copy is really nice for a pulp from the late 1930s. Has the normal edge dings and wear associated with most old pulps due to the overhanging covers and some abrasion to the top of the spine. Only real issue is the the top right corner of the book was exposed to moisture at some time. As a result there is a two inch by one half inch area throughout the book where the pages and covers are darker than the rest of the book. The area is not brown or brittle but that area will age faster than the rest of the book. The covers have retained almost all color and most gloss. Most importantly, other than the area mentioned previously, the covers and pages are off white to light tan and still supple. Many of these old pulps are decaying and falling apart (hence their scarcity). This one has quite a few years left in it. Complete and readable. Bagged and boarded.

Be sure and check my other sales. I will be listing tons of Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age comics - most in attractive lots. (I will also be selling quite a few old pulp magazines and old fantasy & science fiction paperbacks.)

SHIPPING

[IMPORTANT] - policy forces all shipments to be insured and include some sort of delivery confirmation. does not allow buyers to opt out of those options to reduce shipping and handling cost (because makes money off of shipping) so, unfortunately, those costs are included in the handling fee. Just factor the shipping cost into your offer. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases. If you do win more than one sale, please wait for an invoice so I can combine the shipments. will not allow combined shipping once payment has been made. (I will even wait a week or so to combine sales if you plan on offerding on something in the current week - just let me know.)

INTERNATIONAL buyers! Comics and books are now eligible for \'s \"Global Shipping Program\" so feel free to offer using that option. I cannot provide a shipping cost to the buyer since part of it is charged by a third party service and even the US portion of shipping is not determined until the buyer completes the check out process after the sale. \'s rules make any other method of international shipping cost prohibitive so the \"Global Shipping Program\" is the only international shipping option available.

OTHER SALES

I am a long-time comic book guy who has been away for a few years doin\' other stuff. I am a collector who buys collections that have books I want and then eventually sells the extras to recoup some of my cost so I can do it all over again. (Only way I can afford to play.) I have allowed my extras to get completely out of control so I intend to seriously pare down my comics. I will be selling thousands of comics in the relatively near future (more if I decide to part with some of my core collection). You will not see much junk. I drop that off at a local sale house. I will be listing Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and some nice Modern stuff - most of which will be sold in attractive lots with low starting prices. Marvel and DC Super heroes will be in the mix, of course, but there will be more interesting comics as well. Things you don\'t see every day.

(NOTE: My day job is making it difficult for me to list large quality lots each week so I may start listing every other week. If you have me earmarked to check each week - and you are crazy if you don\'t - and there is nothing one week just check back the next.)
