ANASAZI KINISHBA LARGE POLYCHROME OLLA - This olla is somewhat similar to Salado Tonto Polychrome and was only made from about 1275-1325 A.D. it is believed that the patterns originated from Fourmile Polychrome, in which Kinishba is one of only two ceramics (the other being Showlow Polychrome) to share the designs during this brief temporal span. This ceramic type originates from the Mogollon Rim, measures 11\" across and 8\" high and was found on private land north of Safford, Arizona a number of years ago. See release and disclosure picture twelve. This is not only a rare type of prehistoric pottery but also rare to find one in the olla shape. Pieces have been reattached with probably 7% restoration and maybe less with some enhancement. There is a possibility that the later Hopi culture may have copied the color tones of this early prehistoric form. Please look at all of the pictures carefully before offerding.Remarkable Olla! The olla will be carefully packed and insured for the purchase price.
