Description

A really interesting antique Chinese bronze puzzle box consisting of an inner deeply incised die made from either wood or horn along with a flat metal incised square section, both pieces sitting within an open bronze box which then can be covered by a larger box to form a cube. These obscure puzzle boxes were much in fashion in the late 1800s and this is probably from around that time. They are rare collector\'s items and I have been able to secure a number of different forms from a UK based Chinese collector - this is the last of the three. Excellent and rare collectors piece.
Condition: Handling and wear to surfaces. Outer box with minor dings.
The piece is 4 cm (approx 1¾\") by 3.5cm. Weight: 275grams.
