I am selling this Civil War Era Large D Guard Short Sword Bowie Knife. It is a great piece and displays beautifully. There is some damage to the tip of the blade and a crack in the handle but overall the piece is very solid. It measures approximately 23\"L overall. The blade is quite thick and measures approximately 17 1/4\"L. It has a wooden handle with metal ferrule and a thin metal guard. The initials W A or W Vare crudely carved near the bottom of the blade. It has a killer profile and a great deal of character. Originally collected from the Georgia area.
