For sale is an all ORIGINAL, UNRESTORED, handmade solid American black walnut designer poker chip set and chest. Manufactured around the late 1930s, these are extremely rare and this is hands down the finest item of its kind to appear in recent history. All the hinges, chips, and latch are original. There are no major defects and the box still shows its initial finish. No cracking, warping, or moisture damage. The flash photography is very unforgiving and makes the imperfections really stand out. The chest still has the ORIGINAL clay chips, feet on the bottom, and its manufacturer\'s tin stamp, which is in unbelievable condition. Best of all the chips have NOT be altered! Included are 75 red, 74 blue, 30 yellow, and 119 white chips. No denomination branding or repainting of any kind! Only 2 chips have been lost to time and 1 white chip has a small edge chipped off, which is incredible for the fragility of these pieces. The Consider H. Willett furniture company was founded in the 1930s in Louisville KY and peaked in the 40s. It made high end handmade designer furniture out of only the finest quality materials, no plywood, particleboard, or synthetics. Any furniture produced by them is extremely sought after and collectible, especially in the south where the Willett name was synonymous with the highest of quality. Little is known about these pieces as to if they were given to employees or repeat or high end buyers or possibly as a promotional item.
