ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN IROQUOIS BEADED / BEADWORK HAT CAP GLENGARRY 2 :

Asecondantique Native AmericanIroquois beaded velvet cap or glengarry dating from the mid to late 19th century. This cap is unusual as the beads include both glass & metal beads in subtle colours & the cap itself is lined with silk, not the usual cotton fabric. Both caps have been worked with the same floral designs.

It is in good condition with its beading complete,though it has no ribbon bow like the other glengarry I have listed and the lining has lost some stitches. It would have been worn perched on top of the head, aswith the Scottish version of this hat, and it measures about 11.75 inches long from front to back, 6 inches wide and 3.75 inches high (30 by 15.5 by 9.5 cm.)
