This is an authentic good condition clean Soviet era Kuban Cossacks General Papaha / Hat. The inside is maker hallmarked by a Moscow Factory and Russian State Hallmarks with the number 5. The hat has no repairs, damages or moth nips, it is in very good condition for it\'s age. In 1942 The Kuban cossackscatapulted from the Soviet army ,joined and fought on the side of the Wehrmacht against the Russian Army.This hat comes from a long standingmilitarycollection that was started in the late 1960\'s. I am not sure if the hat is WW2 but it looks verysimilarto the WW2 one\'s I have seen inreferencebook.
There are many copies or tourist versions of this hat online that sell for $150but this is an original authentic old army piece not a copy!
