DETAILS OF ITEM
This is a Japanese antique porcelain sleeping cat figurine called Nemuri Neko that measures 4 inches long. It is shown sleeping in a rare right hand facing pose with its paws tucked comfortably under its head. Entirely hand painted, the details show no sign of wear except for 2 tiny spots atop its red bow. The tiny kiln hole is directly under its chin.
It is heavy for its size suggesting that it was heavily potted prior to firing in the kiln.
There are no chips, cracks or repairs and its age is from the 1910\'s to 1920 (late Meiji through Taisho era).
