Up for sale from an estate is an Authentic Civil War Era French M1842 Yataghan Sword with a Bayonet. This sword features a ribbed brass grip and a Yataghan blade. It has the makers mark "F.H. & C." on the blade. The blade has some some pitting with normal signs of wear. This was a former wall hanger with holes drilled in the handle and the scabbard. Please see the photos for details and the markings. One side of the blade is marked "LR" with a crwon hallmark on top. The blade measures 22 3/4" long and the overall length is 27 1/2". The scabbard shows wear from age.
