Here is an original bronze “Medal of Award” from the Panama Pacific International Exposition, San Francisco, 1915. The medal, 2.75 inches in diameter, is in good overall condition.
Designed by sculptor and medalist John Flanagan, the medal features male and female figures, representing the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, joining hands over the Panama Canal (completed in 1914). The reverse shows the Jewell Tower, centerpiece of the Expo.
