C.M.ST.P.P. (Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul and Pacific) Railroad caboose lantern. The railroad was incorporated in 1847 and ended in 1980. In 1928 the name Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul and Pacific Railroad was adopted. Railroad was also more familiarly known as the The Milwaukee Road. The lantern is embossed on one side CMSTPP. And on the other side of the top and not easily read - RIGHT. So, I believe this was used on the right side of a caboose. The red lens is 6 and 3/8\"L and 3 and 3/4\" F. It has 3 small flea bites on the inside and some scuff marks on outside. The other three blue-green lenses are 5 and 3/8\" x 3 and 1/2\" F. Two are KOPP and one is CORNING. They are perfect. The lens retaining rings are held together with brass screws and nuts. The mounting bracket functions and the lantern can be rotated. The wick is probably original to the burner and the burner stem does not raise or lower the wick. There is some rust on interior burner chimney. Overall a good lantern.
