This is a clean and strong cradle that inserts into a vintage Singer sewing cabinet to hold a Singer 301 or 301A short-bed model. Scroll down to see description and video of the cradle. You will receive the cradle plus the cabinet front supports with cork, mounting screws, and set screws. Everything you will receive is shown below:

Metal Front Cabinet Supports Included. This cradle needs the front cabinet supports for the machine to rest correctly. These are included for you. These brackets have the original cork rests and the correct rectangular hole which secures the cradle when the machine is up. There are a few scratches in the location where the cradle meets the front rests, as expected as these fit well together. These are in excellent condition and include the screws for mounting. The 4 wood screws for putting the supports in your cabinet are included.

What I like the most about the cradle is the quick release feature. The machine sits in the cradle with a side bar holding it down. To remove the machine all you have to do is to push this one hinged bar down to release the machine. Just lift the machine out by the 301's handle on top. The spring in your cradle is strong and in good condition. (My 301 machine in the photo above showing the release bar is for demonstration, this sale is for the cradle only.)

Size & Fit. This cradle fits in most vintage Singer cabinets. Check your cabinet for hole size. It is a used cradle in excellent condition, which was just removed from a vintage Singer cabinet, so I know it fits well. There is 9 3/4" between the set screw holes in the back of the cradle for mounting, which is consistent with most vintage Singer tables. The cradle fits in the vintage Singer table with a hole about 7 1/8 inch from front to back and about 16 5/8 inches wide from side to side.

I have put them into cabinets where Singer 201, 15-91, 401, 403, 500, 503, and 600 series machines have been removed. The cradle slips on to the circle hinges in your cabinet. This cradle has the set screws to attach the cradle to your hinges. If your cabinet does not have the circle back hinges, I can add them for free as long as you email me before payment as I ship soon after. The short bed model 301/301A fits into this cradle, but the long-bed model does not as the bed is too large for the cabinet hole. One photo above shows how a 301 cradle fits nicely and is ready to hold a Singer 301/301A machine.

Condition. The cradle and the hardware are in very good vintage condition. The cradle is strong, the felt is clean with no oil stains or odor, and the back metal bars are strong. There are some scratches where the machine fits onto the machine or the front brackets. See the detailed photos above. The cradle fits under the machine and can be very dirty, so I carefully cleaned all surfaces for you. From a non-smoking home.

Packing. I pack well; see my 100% response. The cradle is sturdy metal so itis long and heavy and the package is about 4-5 pounds. Included are the cradle, front cabient brackets with screws, set screws, and I added a new rubber bobbin-winder circle in case you need it also.
