For sale is an original 1916 postcard of German Naval Commander, Captain Karl Spindler. Spindler is well-known as the naval commander who tried to smuggle to Irish rebels during the 1916 Easter Rising while commanding a merchant ship. It was a failure and he was captured by the British. He later went on a speaking tour of the US, where it is likely this comes from.
