Grade: Good M 1847 Sappers & Miners Musketoon Bayonet. Very scarce bayonet with an unfullered blade. Brass grip is cast as bird feathers. Blade is gray with pitting. Obverse blade is marked US and inspected I believe by N.W.P. Reverse is N.P. Ames Cabotville 1847. Leather scabbard is sound with pinnedbrass throat and drag. Number on pommel E 5 . 1847 Sappers & Miners Musketoon Bayonet. Very scarce bayonet with an unfullered blade. Brass grip is cast as bird feathers.
Blade is gray with tarnish but no pitting, there is a small amount of rust forming on the blade near the hilt (pictured)Obverse blade is marked US Reverse is N.P. Ames Cabotville 1847.
Leather scabbard is old and warn, the cap in the end is has some play.
