Civil War U.S. Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry SaberMade by P.S. Justice.35 ½-inch curved blade marked \"P. S.JUSTICE / PHILA\" on the reverse ricasso. The Bayonet has a brasshalf-basket guard with a leather-covered wood grip wrapped with twisted brasswire. Iron scabbard with two mounting rings. The overall length with scabbardis 43”. The blade is bright and smooth. The hilt has a smooth, dark patina. Theiron scabbard has one small dent between the loops on the back side as shown. Thonet and scabbard are in overall fine condition.
