Offered is thisvintage railroad lantern. Cast in metal at the top is DIETZ STANDARD No. 39. NEW YORK U.S.A.The globe stands about 5.5 inches tall, it is embossed with DIETZ VULCAN NEW YORK U.S.A. and is a teal blue color, not cobalt.Neither the globe or lantern frame is marked for any specific railroad. It is in very good condition. The metal frame has just the usual amount of very light rust here and there. The wickhas not been burntand move up and down easily with thumbwheel. The globe has a couple of very small flat surface chips on the exterior side of bottom lip which I feel is quite typical. I tried to show picture of the biggest of the two but it does not show up well. Again I feel that this is a minor issue as chips are not completely through the glass and do not have any affect of the integrity of the globe, as stated I feel they are typical and only mentioned for accuracy.A nice vintagerailroad lanternwith a not so common color globe that would make a great addition to any collection.If item is listed as priority mail, upon request I will ship parcel post to save buyer on shipping cost.
