Description:This one-of-a-kind Scrooge McDuck painting is an original production cel, autographed by Carl Barks,and was used in the Walt Disney Television animated series “DuckTales”. Cel paintings are the final step in the intensely laborious process of animation. The artistic process begins with the storyboard, which illustrates the action of the script. Next, animators create pencil drawings that give life and movement to the characters. After the drawings are transferred onto acetate, the cels are meticulously hand-painted.

Carl Barks (March 27,1901 – August 25, 2000) was an American cartoonist, best known for his comicsabout Donald Duck and as the creator of Scrooge McDuck. He worked anonymouslyuntil late in his career; fans dubbed him The Duck Man and The Good DuckArtist. In 1987, Barks was one of the three inaugural inductees of the WillEisner Comic Book Hall of Fame.
Barks worked for theDisney Studio and Western Publishing where he created Duckburg and many of itsinhabitants, such as Scrooge McDuck (1947), Gladstone Gander (1948), the BeagleBoys (1951), The Junior Woodchucks (1951), Gyro Gearloose (1952), CorneliusCoot (1952), Flintheart Glomgold (1956), John D. Rockerduck (1961) and MagicaDe Spell (1961). Cartoonist Will Eisner called him \"the Hans ChristianAndersen of comic books.\"
