Robert Toussaint carved and painted birds. Every kind of bird and waterfowl found in Quebec in different sizes. They were flat plane carvings and always well painted and detailed. Originally from Trois Saumons, Quebec, his wood carvings were made for the carving centre of Saint-jean-Port-Joli and were also found in Galleries throughout Quebec. He organized the Oisellerie Trois Saumons and all the birds carved there were stamped on the base with that mark
