Extremely Rare Circa 1908 York Safe & Lock Company Prototype Miniature Safe. This safe came from the family of a man who worked for York for about 28 years. The name plate states: York Safe & Lock Co., York, Pa. PT-3. The PT-3 stands for Proto-Type #3. Safe has very unique features not seen before. The safe has a working known combination lock with a trick pull out mechanism with unique combination set up. The door is an articulating door with hidden internal hinges. The entire safe is held together by tiny rivets not screws. The entire exterior of the safe has a fancy nickle plated engine turned finish, probably done for display purposes. Dimensions of the safe are 8\"H x 6 1/4\"W x 7\"D. Weight is approx. 10 lbs. This is a truly one of a kind safe which probably never got into production. If you are a serious collector of Antique Safes and/or Antique Safe Salesman Samples then this is something only you will have. Good luck to all buyers.
