This lovely 7 1/4 inch Limoges plate - featuring a burst of colorful pink and yellow flowers against a pastel blue, yellow and white background - is beautifully hand painted onthin andtranslucent porcelain, evidence of the exceptionally high quality that makes Limoges so famous, and so coveted. The artist\'s work has also produced a delightful textured surface.
The plate has the greenunderglaze mark number 12 ofHaviland & Co,which produced superior quality porcelain in Limoges and remains a major player there today. This mark was in use between 1894and 1931.
The artist\'s name - which appears to be M.E.McKee, though that is subject tointerpretation - is written in gold on the stem of a flower.The plate is in great condition for its age with nothing more than the expected gold weararound the edge. There are no cracks, chips, nicks, repairs, scratches, crazing ordiscoloration.
