Early promotional First Edition cream colored folio by Southern Pacific Railway contains containing 20 (vs. the 16 called for) loose 8\" X 10\" colorized prints in inner pocket. Printsin verygood overall condition. Portfolio is very worn and in poor condition, the front cover has separated from the binding. Portfolio mildly age toned. All prints are near fine, As the inside front portfolio flap notes, \"This folio contains sixteen colored views of points of interest in San Francisco. Reached by Southern Pacific Lines.\" Again, the actual contents are 20 prints.

Portfolio front panel depicts the Mission San Francisco de Asis, Coit Memorial Tower and part of the Palace of Fine Arts, printed in green and blue. The views themselves are charming period pieces, well known views (Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, Market Street, Fisherman\'s Wharf, City Hall, Alcatraz Island, etc.) in the highly colorized style typical of the period.
