HERE\'S A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF AMERICAN TUBE TECHNOLOGY AT IT\'S BEST. This is the classic Heathkit model W4 AM. This amplifier was manufactured for more than 20 years. It\'s rare to see one in this fine condition. It hasVG+ cosmetics, no dings, dents, scratches in the finish. It\'s one of the earlier models with the gray hammertone finish. 98% lettering is perfect. One way to build a super fine amplifier with lots of punch, albeit not the cheapest, is to use super heavy duty power & output transformers. This amplifier uses the original Stancor/UTC transformers. The numbers on the transformers are power, 54-29 138625 choke, 46-12 138652, audio output 51-17 138639. All three transformers run cool and quiet during performance. AMP RUNS AS NEW!! All tubes show no evidence of abuse, plate discoloration, etc.. Most Heathkit gear that was factory assembled has a Heathkit sticker applied. This unit does not, but I\'ve included close-ups of the underside of chassis to show the meticulous high quality solder job, used by whoever built this amp.COPY OF MANUAL IS INCLUDED. The tubes in this amp are again somewhat remarkable. All tubes were tested on my calibrated Western Electric 15750-L2 tester. There\'s a pair of close matched code RCA 6L6 GT codes CO, spec is GM=3.6 k. These tubes- 7.4 k. . The two 6SN7\'s are RCA matching codes XRF,MA . GM=1700. These tubes- 3200! Also included is a new/old stock milspec5AR4/GZ34. This one is Japanese BUT! It pins the meter on WE checker! Spec on rectifiers on this tester is given simply as a marker. This particular tube exceeds the \"good marker\" by at least3x! This also helps amplifier have a more snappy transient response. NOTE: We have pictured an equally high quality Heathkit WA-P2 audio pre-amp and Heathkit FM 3 A Tuner in one of the pictures.
