I bought this knife about 20 years ago, and have never used, carried, or sharpened it. slight discoloration of the 6 inch carbon steel blade is the only sign of age on this knife. I don\'t know exactly how old this knife is, but at a guess, would put it between 40-to years old, due to the fact that the Germans have been using stainless steel for at least 30 years, and this blade is definitely made of carbon steel, with stag handles, and it\'s original fitted leather sheath. It is 11 inches overall, with a 6 inch blade. It has been sitting in my knife box for all that time, and I decided to let someone else enjoy this knife piece of fine German craftsmanship.
