I HAVE FOR SALE THIS STUNNING LARGE VINTAGE CARVED CHESS SET.

WHAT A SHOWPIECE THIS IS. I HAVE HAD THIS SET FOR MANY YEARS AND PLAYED WITH IT OFTEN. WHEN I MOVED TO A SMALLER HOUSE SO MANY THINGS WERE PUT AWAY IN STORAGE AND NEVER USED AGAIN.

THIS IS TOO GOOD NOT TO BE USED. PLEASE STUDY THE PHOTOGRAPHS CAREFULLY AND CONTACT ME AGAIN SHOULD YOU REQUIRE MORE OR FURTHER INFORMATION.

THE CARVED WOODEN BOARD IS CELTIC IN DESIGN, SEE CORNERS, EDGING AND CARVED SQUARES. THE WOOD HAS A LOVELY PATINA NOW. THE FIGURES HAVE TO BE SOME SORT OF CELTIC/PAGAN/DRUID MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES. THE FACES OF THE PIECES ARE EITHER A MONKEY OR APE AND THE LEGS LOOK LIKE GOAT. THINK THE PIECES ARE RESIN. PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT THE LAST PHOTO. UNDER EACH OF THESE PIECES ONLY THERE LOOKS LIKE A SIGNATURE? POSSIBLY READS dog (IN LOWER CASE) OR GUP (IN UPPER CASE) DEPENDING ON WHICH WAY ROUND YOU READ IT.

BOARD MEASURES 23 1/2\" SQUARE AND 7/8\" HIGH. PIECES VARY IN HEIGHT BUT FOR EXAMPLE QUEEN MEASURES 6\" HIGH AND PAWNS MEASURE 4 1/2\" HIGH. HEAVY PIECES WEIGHING QUEEN 197g, KNIGHT 250g AND PAWN 116g. TOTAL WEIGHT FOR BOARD AND PIECES 8.6KG UNWRAPPED.

CONDITION - IN VERY GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION. LOVELY PATINA. DON\'T SEE ANY DAMAGE OR REPAIRS TO THE CHESS PIECES, BOARD HAS A COUPLE OF SCRAPES AT CORNERS. IN NEED OF A WIPE OVER THOUGH AS BEEN AWAY IN STORAGE.

RETURNS - We accept returns in most cases. If you are unhappy with your purchase please contact us within 14 DAYS of receiving your item. All our items are sold as seen and will be thoroughly described including any items that have damage or wear. Buyers are responsible for returns postage costs unless agreed otherwise. If an item of clothing is being returned as doesn\'t fit, buyer must pay returns postage as all items of clothing have measurements listed.

POSTAGE - We dispatch all items within 1 business day of receiving payment. A variety of postage options are available, if you would like a different service from that advertised in our listing please advise BEFORE paying and a new invoice will be sent. If at any time we have overcharged for postage and packaging costs we will refund the difference to you.
