QUAPAW RED / Mississippian White on Red Platform Jar - W. Arkansas - 1910 - FINE:
$1200.00

This is a Fine, (Very Rare in this condition),QUAPAW RED, White on Red - Painted \"Platform\" Jar,from W. Arkansas. This was part of the large Mississippian Collection of Dr. B. Roulett, from W. Arkansas.
This beauty measures: 7-1/2\" H. x approx 6-1/2\" W., from Shell-Clay, and was dug from private farm land in 1910.It is painted with white pigment, over the Red Slip applied to the overall shell-tempered Arkansas Clay vessel.
This artifact came from the early Mississippian Phase, around: AD 800 - 1,000 (Mississippian Era = AD 800-1550).Grade-9.5 Condition !!!suffering ONLY some minor painting scuffs.Vessel is VERY Solid, and Whole !!!
Unless you find an old collector willing to part with his Quapaw or Caddo pots, you\'ll not find many anymore !!!This stuff is Scarcer than Anasazi, simply because Anasazi stuff can still be found onPrivateLand !!!But not so with Mound Builder artifacts, which are protected from modern digging of any sort.
This artifact was JUSTappraised byCorinne Cain Ltd,@ $1,500.00, for personal insurance purposes. In absolute Perfect Condition, withas-new\"Bright\" paint, this artifact will have a max. appraisal ceiling of $2,200.00 !!!
This is certainly Not To Say one wouldn\'t get Much More on the open market,as we all know, insurance companies are Very Cheap in the awarded appraisals, because this is how much they would have to deal-out, should the policy holder have to cash-in.
This came for the late B. Roulett collection
This is a near-perfect - \'Serious Collectors Only\' - Mississippian Era Artifact.

GuaranteedAuthentic & LegallyAcquired off Private Land in 1914!!!
