Netsuke Style Clam Shell Diorama
Listing is for an extremely hard to find, old/antique/vintage Netsuke Style Japanese celluloid clam shell miniature diorama with a working water mill/wheel, a hut, a boat with sail, trees, a bridge, a duck in the water and a couple standing on the shore.
Has an intricately details, hand carved looking top lid of a Japanese building (pagoda?), flower blossoms with Mount Fuji (?) in the background.
Very rare to find a complete diorama with a working wheel, an intact boat sail, attached lid, a couple and/or a duck in the water!
Most similar designs have a dragon scene on the top of the lid - this one is vary unique and beautiful!
Believed to complete, made in the 1950\'s in Japan by Netsuke.
Measures About: 2.2\" tall, 2.4\" x 3\" wide
