From a historic Chicago estate of generations of lawyers who had ties to President Taft
measures 37\" high 30\" wide at the widest point
It has 46 stars.
has rounded curve has metal loops on the back with old string that was used to hold it on something. Not very sure if it was on a building or a car in the motorcade.
metal seems to have original paint with light chips on the edge a bit of wear only shown in the piped edges.
maybe some touch up paint. IT was found in the attic of the historic home wrapped in newspapers early Chicago Tribune papers to be exact!
Looks similar to the Union Pacific logo crest
