Rare Africa Tikar Large 41\"+ Pair of Carved Trumpet Horns Cameroon 19th C
Rare carved trumpet horns with conical side mouth for the Royal court of Centrafrique , Cameroon, Tikar tribe, 19th century. This pair, probably a couple one female and the other male, shows the sovereign authority and prestige. They are hand carved with characters, heads of antelope and elephants, spiders, cockroaches, lizards and crickets. 41 3/8\" length (105cm). They have remains of cream color in the bottom of carvings, the straps and the leather mouths are missing as presented on the following pictures.

Elles sont sculptées de personnages, de têtes d\'antilopes et d\'éléphants, araignées, blattes, lézards et grillons. Trace de couleur blanc crème dans les fonds, elles ont perdu leurs lanières et enbouchures de cuir. Très bel état, accident à la base d\'une trompe. Longueur 1,05 mètre.
