Up For sale Is This
Rare Antique 15\" Composition Japanese
Ichimatsu Boy Doll 38cm
with Rare Hair Style, black glass eyes,
a rare open mouth & 2 teeth.
He is dressed in an antique red delicate silk kimono.
He was Made in Japan and he has some
Japanese markings under
his Kimono stamped on the paper undergarments.
He is made of composition that is covered with layers of Gofun.
He has floating joints.
(meaning his limbs are attached to cloth at the elbow & knee)
He does have some condition issues.
He has some cracking or crazing of the composition
round the side of his head, around his mouth,
inside his left hand, also on his feet. (please see photos)
His kimono also has some condition issues.
There are several spots were it is torn or very worn.
If you repair or restore old dolls like this Ichimatsu
he would be a great project.
Even with all of the flaws he is still a lovely doll
with a lot of history.
He has such a unusual look and
would be a lovely addition to any collection.
FYI…My home is also a smoke free home
but some of my dolls come from other homes and collectors
and I am not sure of their homesbut
I will let you know if I smell smoke.
