This gun is a Civil War period (and before) PERCUSSION Alarm gun. You can attach it most anywhere such as door, gate, window, fence post, trip wire...almost anywhere an intruder signal is desired. Barrel is 1\" diameter and .50 cal. bore. For enclosed areas, the percussion cap (size #11) may be plenty of sound for you. This is a great historic recreation. GREAT noisemaker made of superb materials at a great price.

This model is not one of those cheaply made things from a relic store or flea market.... it is nowhere close. The barrel is machined from solid industrialbar stock.Heavy being 4 inches long! The bore size is a very respectable .5 inch (Fifty caliber) Barrel diameter is 1\"
