Taber pump organ:
$200.00

This organ is probably over 100 years old and is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. It does not currently work and I do not know if it could be restored to working order. I also do not know if it is missing pieces. The wood finish has some water stains on the lid and it also appears to be missing the wood pull down cover for the keys. There are several acorn pieces of the woodwork that are missing. It has 8 knobs on the front that are probably designed to change the pitch they are all intact with lettering visible. The foot pedals are intact and the fabric on them is worn. They are both horizontal where they should be placed at a slant one of them has a strap attached to it that is just hanging and the other one does not. It was purchased from an estate sale so we have no knowledge of its history or origin. All we know is that it is a beautiful instrument and we certainly hope that someone can restore it to original working order.
The Taber Organ Company was originally established as the Worcester Organ Company of Worcester, Massachusetts in 1875. In 1890 the name was changed to Taber Organ Company. The firm was known for building very elaborate, ornate organs which were at the height of lavish Victorian style. The musical quality of these organs was equally as impressive as their aesthetic appeal, and the firm enjoyed an excellent reputation. There is no mention of the firm after about 1910, indicating they went out of business shortly after the turn-of-the-century era.
This item is being sold as is and will only be available for local pickup.
Please ask me any questions but keep in mind that I am definitely not an expert when it comes to organs. Thank you so much for looking.
