Very Large Vintage Sterling Navajo Footed Kachina Bolo.
This is quite a piece, and was purchased by me in the early 1980s in an antique shop in Sedona Arizona.
The Bolo measures 5 inches in height and from wing to wing 5 inches in width.
There are 10 Turquoise stones, and in the life of this piece, and it\'s travels, some may have been replaced.
I bought the Bolo as is, so I\'m not sure what the artist chose in the way of stones back then. The eyes are Coral.and one is a little deeper then the other.
This is a solid heavy piece of Sterling Silver weighing 111 grams according to my little scale. It could be off a hair, but it\'s close to accurate.
I\'m not selling it for weight, as its value is in the antiquityand the workmanship.
The piece is footed, and has beautiful detail throughout.
There is no signature on the piece or marks. This is not unusual as many older pieces were not signed or stamped.
The Bolo has been tested for Sterling and passed with flying colors. The test mark is on the back side right lower corner and can be seen in the photos.
The Bolo clasp says Bennett Pat Pend.The Tips are Sterling and the Leather Braided Bolo cord was probably replaced at some time before I purchased the Bolo
This is an extraordinary piece.
