Offered in this sale is a very rare place setting of square Fenton French White Opalescent Hobnail: 8.5\" plate (measured across), 5.5\" saucer (measured across) and 3.5\" coffee/tea cup (handle adds another 1\"). The blue square plates are not common, but not as rare as the white.
Attributed to Fenton Art Glass, this magnificent square set is manufactured in French Opalescent (white/clear not blue). Manufactured in 1951 and part of the Square Hobnail tableware. The elusive square pieces are not frequently seen. Square Hobnail items were considered a failure. While traditional hobnail still sold well, the square tableware failed to meet the people\'s fancy, and thus was discontinued shortly after introduction. Discerning collectors readily pick any square items when found.
These pieces are free from damage.
