You are looking at a belt driven siren from the H.O.R.company. These sirens would have been mounted to the engine of a fire truck,police car, etc. and when the lever was pulled, the siren impeller would bepulled back against an internal clutch disk and spun by the engine.
I have mechanically refurbished this siren with new bearings,grease, and adjustments. It works great on the bench (have not mounted to avehicle). Mounting brackets are included. No cracks or damage to siren orbrackets. NOTE: The manufacturers plate is missing from this siren.

From my internet research, I found that H.O.R. were theinitials of the company founder Harry O. Ricci. The company is most noted for theirlarge 40hp Civil Defense / tornado sirens.
