Heathkit SB200 linear amplifier with 572B tubes. I changed the High Voltage filter capacitors with brand new units with 500 vdc ratings (instead of 450) and higher capacity value (180uf instead of 140uf). The high voltage seems a bit high (about 2400 on the meter) ? the clear plastic meter window is missing but the meter works. The tubes light up and I started to tune and load the amp but my 300 watt dummy load would not take the power and my antenna tuner (end fed wire) smoked when I got up about 300 watts so I quit. I replaced the door knob cap from the plate leads to the tuning cap with a new one. the parasitic suppressor resistors have bubbles on the outside, but you can still see the color coding bands. the input tuning coils look excellent and the bifilar wound filament choke looks good. the amp is wired for 110vac but can be changed to 220vac. the antenna relay seems to work but I didn\'t have it in very long. The fan works. The front wafer of the band switch switches in a door knob capacitor on 80m and there is signs of arcing on the switch and the capacitor... not sure how bad it is. band coils look good, load and tune capacitors look good. the plate choke looks like it was hot, but does not look burnt or shorted. the case is in fair condition and the front panel is pretty good. it had masking tape with markings on it and I took it off and cleaned the front panel, but with very close inspection, you can see where the tape was, especially around the meter. I believe this amp will be a fairly easy fix for someone so inclined with appropriate skills but it is being sold as \"not working, parts only\" and includes no guarantee. I have attempted to describe it as best I could. it includes the manual. I have resigned myself to running 200w pep as I am too cheap to buy a larger dummy load and too lazy to put up a better antenna!..haha.... I was going to put a piece of clear plastic from a CD case to cover the meter, but never did. the unit is heavy and I will box in a way to assure safe shipping so shipping will be expensive.
