As a cool mist humidifier this one works good. As an aromatherapy diffuser there are issues. First off, do not expect the humidifier to keep the whole house humidified. It will work well in a large room though. The large tank holds a days worth of use if you are not running it full blast. I bought 100% essential oil at a local specialty store and was told by the owner that only 100% oils would work. I bought lemongrass oil and tangerine oil just for the fragrance. I was told to use 3 to 5 drops at a time. Neither fragrance really gave the room a noticeable amount of fragrance but I could detect a faint amount anyway. I was hoping that this unit would have a separate section for the oils but there is no other way to diffuse the oils than to add the oil to the water supply. That being said, I will tell you that the tangerine oil stained the inside of the tank leaving a ring of orange color on the inside that will not come off. This is due to the alcohol content in the oil which affects the plastic surface by melting into it. I have stopped using the oils as I do not want to damage the ultrasonic atomizer. I should have known better to try to mix oil and water in the first place. In conclusion, I think that this is a great humidifier but not really intended as a diffuser.
