1870's / 80's USMC Cape

Original 1870's ~ 1880's era USMC red lined frock cape. Nice looking piece that is not without it's flaws. It is missing a couple buttons as you can see in the photos and also has some scattered mothing. The replacement original buttons should not be too hard to find for this era cape. Although it has some mothing the nap of the fabric is still fairlygood for it's age and the majority of the wear is along the edges of the cape. You can see in one of the pics the top button hole has a lot of thread wear from being taken off & on while it was being worn while in service. You can also see a name which was stamped inside the neck area. Overall it's a really neat piece for you Marine Corp collectors and not one you'll likely see again for sale.
