19th Century RARE Victorian Antique French Brass Clock with an absolutely exquisite ornate hand painted porcelain dial with black Roman numerals, minute markers, along with red hourly marker and five minute spacers with scrolledFleur-de-lys originalhands. The French movement is housed in an elaborate three step side finial ornate solid heavy brass case with scrolls, leaves and cartouche.

Topped with a Fleur-de-lys finial and a smaller acorn finial directly above the clock face. Chimes at half hour intervals. The shop person on Royal Street in NOLA where we purchased this piece informed us it was “more than likely” from a bordello at one point in its life and chimes at half hour intervals to let customers know when their visit ended. What attracted me to this clock was the heart shape scroll under the face. Original and in in working order. It’s quite the charmer, decorative and most definitely a conversational (lol) antique timepiece that is in absolute lovely original condition. It will ship with original pendulum and wind key.
