This is a visually striking andVery RARE Vintage 1970s American MUSCLE Car ACME Paint AUTOMOTIVE Finishes SIGN, Screenprint & paint on metal, which promotes ACME Automotive Finishes, a historic American company founded in Chicago in 1932. This sign depicts the company's mid 1970's - early 1980's logo, which features the tail end of a gold muscle car, portrayed against a stark white field. On the bumper of the car, it boldly reads: "ACME Automotive Finishes." The gold coloring in this sign shines brilliantly in natural sunlight (See Photo 24.) This large garage-sized collectible sign is approximately 34 inches tall x 70 inches wide x one inch thick. Over 2 x 5 feet! Due to the large size and heavy weight of this piece, S&H costs will be unavoidably high. However, Free Local Pickup from Los Angeles County, California is also an option. This item is in good condition for many decades of age, storage, and outdoor display use, with mild paint loss, paint flaking, scuffing, and edge wear throughout, and loosely mounted wooden bars affixed to the verso (please see all photos carefully.)This is a very rare sign. There is nothing comparable to this piece anywhere online, or in cataloged histories of past sale records. It is the largest known vintage ACME Automotive Finishes sign known to still exist.
