A magnificent, fine and impressive, antique George V English sterling silver presentation bowl; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection

Description

This magnificent, fine and impressive antique George V silver bowl, crafted in sterling standard, has a oval form onto an oval domed foot.

The large body of this sterling silver bowl is embellished with impressive cast applied medallions depicting floral and foliate motifs in addition to bearded figural mask designs.

The exceptional cast applied medallions are further accented with impressive shaped strapwork decoration, extending to the upper border and the base of the magnificent bowl.

The pierced decorated undulated border of the impressive presentation bowl is ornamented with an applied moulded rim.

The border of the antique bowl is further embellished with four exceptional cast and applied rams head motifs, positioned at even intervals around the rim.

The domed portion of the oval foot is encircled with chased quatrefoil decoration.

The underside of this magnificent silver centrepiece retains the original gilding.

This antique sterling silver centrepiece bowl is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The bowl has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The impressive cast applied, pierced, chased and strap work decoration is all sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the bowl are clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
