This incredible piece of USA history is a 1931 vintage Mail Pouch Tobacco thermometer sign with a wood frame, featuring a blue, yellow, and white color scheme. It is an advertising collectible with a patent date of March 10, 1931. (Note in the pictures the 31 stamp from manufacturer). This original sign was hung on the outside of a small town grocery store back in the 30’s-50’s. “TREAT YOURSELF TO THE BEST”. The thermometer serves as a unique and nostalgic piece of memorabilia, promoting the Mail Pouch brand and encouraging customers to "treat themselves to the best." Perfect for collectors of vintage advertising merchandise, this thermometer is a retro and eye-catching addition to any advertising memorabilia display and WORKS PERFECTLY! This is definitely a must have for the avid collector. You can hardly find these huge ones without a lot of damage, plus this one functions properly and has an original wooden frame. The thermometer works exactly as it did in the old days, as I check the temperature daily! A few chips in the porcelain coating down to the metal, but these marks only add to its level of super cool!! I’ve had this piece for over 30 years, and have loved on it ever since. I’m moving out of the country, so I’m reluctantly parting with it. Measures 60” (5 feet tall) x 15” across.
