☆EXTREMELY RARE☆ President Harry S Truman Live Presidential Signature on a Masonic Document ~ Signed in 1949 While Visiting the Little White House and Scottish Rite Temple in Key West as 33rd POTUS and 33° Mason

This is a rare and authentic original presidential signature of Harry S Truman on a Scottish Rite Freemasonry document from 1949. This is a Live Signature of Sitting President Harry S Truman, 33rd President of the United States and 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. This masonic document was signed in 1949 when Truman was President of the United States and visited the Little White House in Key West, Florida. Also noted with his signature, in his own hand, he wrote PGMMo 33° (designating his tenure as Past Grand Master of Masons in Missouri and 33rd Degree Mason).

Many of the other signatures on this amazing document are from Key West's Masonic history, which in addition to Harry S Truman, include Gerald Adams, Horace O'Bryant, and Glenn Archer (for whom schools were named). If you're familiar with the southernmost island, you'll no doubt recognize many other Key West names, like Curry, Higgs, Maloney, Roberts, Cates, Watson, Whitmarsh, Parks, Weech, and Camus (many of whose names are now gracing mansions, beaches, streets and lanes in this Southernmost City).

We came into possession of this Scottish Rite Masonic patent over 40 years ago when we bought a house and owned a photography business on Truman Ave., and we have treasured it ever since. We have decided to sell it so that others may also enjoy it. This is a very important part of Presidential, Masonic, and Key West history, so we want to give the opportunity to purchase this to someone who will cherish it as much as we have, and for it to find a place of honor and a new home. We have attached high-resolution photographs from which you can zoom to better see each of the signatures.

Provenance ~ We have attached verification of our having loaned the document to the Truman Little White House Museum for several years. Also, at the museum, we became aware of official logs of Truman's Presidential visits to Key West that provide provenance to a time many of these dignataries were present for Masonic ceremonies to honor Truman (copies attached).

The Grand Master of Masons in Florida in 1949 was Anthony Wayne Conner, who was from Tampa and presented President Harry S. Truman with an honorary Grand Master of Florida scroll on December 3, 1949 (the same day he signed and dated this masonic patent, A.W. Connor).

You'll also find additional signatures from many other high-ranking Masonic officials, and other dignitaries such as Spessard Holland (former Florida Governor and Senator).

This would be a great addition to any serious Presidential or Masonic collection. In 2007, we took the piece to the Antiques Roadshow, where it was valued at a minimum of $5K at that time based soley on the signature of President Truman and his connection to the Masons (also the insurance value listed on the Truman White House loan docs).

We realized that this was a valuable piece of history, so we made the investment to have it museum framed. We had the document archivally mounted and preserved inside a UV conservation sleeve so as to be retrievable in its original condition, thus retaining its full value. It is further protected by UV-filtering glass to double the protection of these valuable signatures from fading. This makes it a beautiful piece of art and history to hang in any home, office, or museum.
