Listed for sale are two Seattle Starbucks mugs. A Seattle "mistake" mug from the Starbucks City Scenes series. You can’t call yourself a real Starbucks City Scenes collector if you don’t have one of these in your collection! The art deco style Version 1 mug was released in 2003, and sold for less than a week when it was discovered that there was a mistake on the mug. Starbucks Corporate headquarters are in Seattle Washington, where one of the biggest landmarks is Mount Rainier. So the press had a field day with Starbucks releasing a mug that was misspelled as Mount “Ranier” instead “Rainier”. The mugs were quickly pulled from the shelves and destroyed, and few were sold, making this one the rarest Starbucks Seattle mug. In fact it is likely rarer than any of the other Starbucks mugs. Moneytalknews says “the ‘Mistake Mug’ is widely considered the rarest of all Starbucks items”. Starbucksmelody says “it is extremely rare”. They rarely come up for sale which is why many collectors don’t even know this mug exists.

The second mug is the 2007 Starbucks Seattle Hometown Architecture Series 18 oz. Coffee Mug Cup.
