1800’s to Early 1900’s Yellow Cedar Tlingit “Bear” Feast - Grease Bowl - Alaska:
$3750.00
Super rare hand carved cedar grease bowl depicting a Tlingit “Bear” clan design carved on each end of the bowl.
Superb worn/rubbed patina and exhibits years of use and love. The wood is nice and smooth from handling and grease preserving and soaking into the cedar.
The bear design is old and not one that is currently used, which dates the piece to early tourist trade era at around the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Could even be mid 19th century as there is no accurate way to date the piece other than wear and design.
Came from a local estate and is around 17 1/2 inches by 5 3/4 inches in size.
